APlus Mastery · Changelog

What’s new

Changes to APlus Mastery and its free A+ pages, newest first. SecPlus Mastery keeps its own changelog.

  1. A better free sample

    • ImprovedThe free sample now ends with a link to sit the full exam for that core, free with an account.
    • FixedOn the free sample, the right answer is no longer usually the longest choice.
  2. Faster core switching

    • ImprovedOpening the course or switching between Core 1 and Core 2 now skips a redirect, so the page starts loading sooner.
    • FixedIf time runs out on your free practice exam before it is submitted, the page now tells you that you can start it again.
  3. Old tabs that fix themselves

    • FixedAn A+ page your browser reopens from before an update now reloads once, instead of loading without its styles.
  4. No objective you can pass by picking the longest choice

    • ImprovedAnswer choices are evened out in 19 more objectives, so no single quiz rewards picking the longest choice.
    • ImprovedA+ pages opened from a search or a link stay readable while they load, instead of blanking out first.
  5. Answer choices that no longer give the answer away

    • ImprovedIn 170 questions the right answer was the longest choice. Those choices are now evened out, so picking the longest one no longer works.
    • FixedStart free, opened while you are already signed in, now takes you into the course instead of the sign-up form.
  6. Out of beta, and Settings say what each choice applies to

    • NewNetPlus Mastery, a separate course for CompTIA Network+, is now open on the same account you use for APlus Mastery.
    • ImprovedAPlus Mastery is out of beta, and the Beta label is gone from the course, its pages and its emails.
    • ImprovedThe pricing page and its AI Teaching offer now say they are for APlus Mastery, and that each course is sold on its own.
    • ImprovedSigned in, the APlus Mastery pages now carry your account menu, and a Courses link leads to every course.
    • FixedSecPlus Mastery in the footer now opens SecPlus Mastery, even when APlus Mastery is your default course.
    • ImprovedSettings now shows what belongs to your account, what belongs to this core, and what stays on this device.
    • ImprovedDownload your data and Delete account now name the courses they cover, and Start over names the core it clears.
    • ImprovedThe menu under your picture now lists the courses on your account and marks the one you are in.
    • FixedAI Teaching in Settings no longer points you to a language switch that APlus Mastery does not have.
    • FixedStart over in a core now clears that core's AI Teaching conversations, and starting over in SecPlus Mastery no longer touches yours.
    • ImprovedSigning in or signing up for APlus Mastery now shows its own mark, and says one account signs you in to every course.
    • FixedIf you started in APlus Mastery, you no longer get SecPlus Mastery's first-week and sale emails about its prices.
    • ImprovedYour confirmation code and password reset emails now say one account signs you in to every course.
    • FixedReceipts and payment history in Settings now lists what you bought in APlus Mastery, each with a link to its receipt.
  7. Hands-on labs, and a clearer APlus Mastery page

    • NewMore ways to study now holds hands-on practice: terminal labs at a Windows prompt or a Linux shell, troubleshooting scenarios, and diagram drills.
    • ImprovedAfter a missed quiz, today's plan has you redo what you got wrong before the retake, and two misses in a row send you back to the lesson first.
    • ImprovedToday's plan now asks you to retake a quiz you passed within 4 hours of a miss, so your readiness score can count it.
    • ImprovedYour first day back after two or more days off is now a shorter one: a handful of review cards and a single objective.
    • FixedPractice drills and the other optional rows on today's plan now tick off when you start them, instead of staying open all day.
    • ImprovedThe drill decks moved under Drills, next to the rest of your practice, and they are still free.
    • ImprovedThe APlus Mastery page shows a real screen from the course, and you can play the Core 1 ports drill right on it.
    • ImprovedA button at the top of the page opens a free PBQ right away, with no account needed.
    • ImprovedEach plan on the page has its own button, and what the beta label means is spelled out beside the prices.
    • ImprovedSign in and Start free are in the header from the moment a page opens.
    • FixedThe hint inside empty category boxes is now easier to read.
  8. AI Teaching, and Domain 1 brought up to date

    • NewNew AI Teaching section: a teacher explains each objective's lesson in small pieces, asks a question after each one, and tells you when you look ready for the quiz.
    • NewObjective 1.1 of each core is free to try. The rest comes with the A+ AI Teaching add-on, one payment on top of your plan that covers both cores.
    • NewYou can tick Add AI Teaching on a plan at checkout and pay for both at once.
    • NewThe sidebar has a Pricing link now, the same as on SecPlus Mastery.
    • FixedDomain 1 lessons and practice questions in both cores now match current Windows 11, macOS, and mobile facts, and questions that allowed two right answers now have one.
  9. A first-day starter set, partial credit on PBQs, and question reports

    • ImprovedPBQs in quizzes and practice sets now earn partial credit, the same way the practice exam already scored them.
    • ImprovedYour plan now gives each lesson its own reading time instead of the same 8 minutes for all of them.
    • NewYour first day now starts with 10 practice questions from the free domain, before any lesson.
    • ImprovedChecking a review answer now asks whether you were sure, and the grade that fits is marked for you.
    • NewYou can report a problem with a question from under its explanation, and the report names the question for us.
  10. Four free pages: PBQs, ports, the practice exam and a study plan

    • NewA new PBQ page explains A+ performance-based questions and has a real one from each core to try, graded on the spot.
    • NewThe Core 1 ports have a page of their own now, with TCP or UDP for every port, the secure pairs and a quiz.
    • NewA page on the free practice exam shows what each core's paper holds, how the sitting runs and what you get back.
    • NewA week-by-week study plan covers both cores at one or two objectives a day, with a practice exam week to finish each.
  11. A full practice exam for each core on the free plan

    • NewFree accounts can now sit one full practice exam in each core: 90 timed questions across every domain, scored on the 100 to 900 scale.
    • NewThe free exam is one fixed paper, the same for every free account, and its score report breaks your result down by domain.
    • ImprovedUntil you have sat it, your day plan has a link to the free practice exam for your core.
    • ImprovedThe course and the APlus Mastery pages have a new look: plain labels instead of small capitals, a quieter header and sidebar, and cards that sit up off the page.
  12. Domain 3 video lessons, and your flagged questions one click away

    • NewPlan holders can now watch the Domain 3 video lessons, from each lesson or the Videos page.
    • ImprovedThe flagged card on a mock exam report now opens the review on just the questions you flagged.
    • FixedPassing the last objective in a core no longer tells you the next objective is open.
    • FixedThe free practice exam and the cheat sheet no longer cover SNMP ports, which are not on the 220-1201 port list.
  13. A full-width lesson video, and email changes that say what they need

    • ImprovedYour mock exam report now also shows your score on the questions you had never answered before, since the real exam is all new questions.
    • ImprovedA mock now counts toward Exam ready only if you pass the questions that were new to you, when it had at least 30 of them.
    • ImprovedAfter your exam date passes, Today asks how it went only once, and you can say you have not taken it yet.
    • FixedOn a wide screen, the video under a lesson title now fills the reading column instead of a narrow strip with its label cut off.
    • FixedChanging your email now asks you to open the link sent to your old address as well as the new one, since the change waits for both.
    • ImprovedLesson callouts and answer feedback have a thin outline all the way round in place of a colored edge on one side.
    • ImprovedA cleaner look on the A+ home page and result screens: the study loop reads as one strip, the glows are gone, and headings break evenly.
    • ImprovedReview now comes back to every objective you have mastered, a few questions at a time, on gaps that start at a day and grow to months.
    • ImprovedWith an exam date set, review is planned so every mastered objective comes up at least twice before the exam, the later domains included.
    • ImprovedEach day's reviews now keep room for new questions from your mastered objectives, so a pile of older cards can no longer crowd them out.
    • ImprovedThe first review after you pass a quiz now comes the next day instead of minutes later.
  14. Quiz scores that match the verdict

    • FixedA quiz you missed by a hair no longer shows 80% above the line that says you need 80%.
  15. Clearer PBQ answers, and password resets that finish

    • ImprovedA missed performance-based question now marks each line of your answer right or wrong.
    • FixedIf a reset turns down your new password, you can pick another and finish with the same code, and a code that does not work tells you what to check.
    • FixedThe Domain 3, 4, and 5 lessons and questions in both cores were checked against current sources, and the facts and questions that were wrong or unclear are corrected.
  16. Your missed questions after a quiz

    • ImprovedA failed quiz now lists the questions you missed, and each one opens with its explanation.
    • FixedSign-in no longer drops you on a device whose clock is set wrong, and right and wrong answer marks are easier to read.
  17. Easier reading in review

    • FixedThe grade buttons in review and the due count on the phone tab bar are now easy to read in every theme.
    • FixedOn iPhone, iPad, and Safari, a course tab left open during an update now reloads itself instead of showing an error.
  18. A clearer Videos page

    • FixedDomain 2 videos you cannot open yet now show a lock and the objective that opens them, instead of leading to a locked lesson.
  19. Domain 2 video lessons

    • NewPlan holders can now watch the Domain 2 video lessons, from each lesson or the Videos page.
  20. Quiz retakes on fresh questions

    • ImprovedQuiz retakes now start with questions you have not seen, and a pass within 4 hours of a miss counts toward readiness once a later pass confirms it.
    • ImprovedA pass held back after a miss now shows the time a retake starts to count.
  21. Free video lessons, smoother motion, and steadier lessons on a phone

    • NewEach Domain 1 lesson in both cores now lets you watch its free video instead of reading, and all fourteen sit on the new Videos page too.
    • ImprovedScreens settle into place as they open, answers react when you pick and check them, and the plans page marks the recommended pass.
    • FixedOn a phone, lessons no longer slide sideways, and the pop-up definition on a bold term stays on screen.
    • FixedOn the free tier, the calendar on Today names the paid objective on the day you reach it, instead of marking a free one Locked.
    • ImprovedThe Beta badge, the exam code in the course bar and the sale price on the plan buttons are easier to read.
    • ImprovedThe course opens faster when you come back to it, because your browser keeps its code between visits.
  22. Fixes from the first day

    • FixedA course left open in another tab or on another device no longer undoes settings, email choices or quiz scores saved since.
    • FixedWith a 90-Day Pass, the plans page offers Lifetime only at the upgrade price, and the thank-you page waits for Lifetime to arrive.
    • FixedThe A+ pages fit a phone: the header stays on one line, and the home page no longer cuts off its opening text.
  23. APlus Mastery starts in beta

    • NewEach A+ exam has its own course, 220-1201 for Core 1 and 220-1202 for Core 2, with a quiz after every lesson.
    • NewSpaced review brings back what you're about to forget; each core also has a timed 90-question mock exam.
    • NewDrills for the facts A+ expects you to know cold, from ports to command lines, are free on every plan, with progress for each deck.
    • NewDomain 1 of each core is free with no card needed, and your SecPlus Mastery account already signs in.
    • NewThe 90-Day Pass and Lifetime each cover both cores, sold apart from SecPlus Mastery plans and half off through October 22.
    • NewIn Settings, Default platform picks where signing in takes you, so APlus Mastery can open first.
    • FixedSigning up from an A+ page opens the course directly, without a stop at SecPlus Mastery or a second sign-in.
    • FixedSaving the exam date the Today page suggests no longer fails with an out-of-range message.
    • FixedOn a phone, the Core 1 and Core 2 switch at the top is bigger and easier to reach.
  24. The free A+ pages shift to the new exams

    • ImprovedThe free practice questions and cheat sheet now cover the current exams, 220-1201 and 220-1202.
  25. A free A+ practice exam

    • NewA free timed practice exam for both cores, scored by domain, with a written explanation for every question.
