Terms of Service

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your location) to use the Service. If you are under 18, use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian, or through a seat your school has licensed.
• You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it current. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you choose to trust a browser for two-step verification, keep that device secure: anyone using it can skip the second step for up to 30 days. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
• Accounts are for a single individual. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account or let others use it.

SecPlus Mastery is a mastery-based learning platform for the CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) exam, offering lessons, quizzes, spaced-repetition review, practice questions, and mock exams. A free tier provides access to Domain 1; paid tiers unlock additional domains, mock exams, and features. The site also publishes a small set of free CompTIA A+ reference pages that need no account; paid access covers the Security+ SY0-701 material only. We may add, change, or remove features over time. The Service is provided for educational purposes and is a study aid only.

Optional study email series. If you take the free readiness check without an account, you can ask for your results by email. Doing so signs you up for a short study email series (six emails; one describes what the paid tier adds and two others mention it in passing). The series is optional, is not required to use any part of the Service, and does not create an account. Every email in it includes an unsubscribe link that stops the series immediately. What we store for it, and for how long, is described in the Privacy Policy.

Translations. Parts of the Service are available in languages other than English (currently Spanish). Translations are provided for convenience: translated coverage may be smaller than the English version (for example, fewer practice questions are available in Spanish, and some content remains English-only), and where a translation and the English text of the Service, these Terms, or the Privacy Policy differ, the English version controls. Study material itself is not legal content, but its English source remains the authoritative version of what a question or lesson teaches.

CompTIA, Security+, A+, and SY0-701 are trademarks of CompTIA, Inc. SecPlus Mastery is an independent study tool and is not endorsed by, sponsored by, certified by, or affiliated with CompTIA. We do not administer the certification exam. Using the Service, scoring well on its quizzes, or completing its mock exams does not guarantee that you will pass the official CompTIA Security+ exam or any other certification.

• Payment processing. Paid plans are billed through Stripe, Inc. By purchasing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge your selected payment method for the amount disclosed at checkout, plus any applicable taxes.
• 90-Day Exam Pass. The 90-Day Exam Pass is a single, one-time charge that grants full access to all study content for 90 days from the date of purchase. It does not automatically renew, and there are no recurring charges. When the 90 days end, your account returns to the free tier unless you purchase again.
• Lifetime. The Lifetime plan is a single, one-time charge that grants access to our current and future Security+ study content for as long as we operate the Service, including our course for the next version of the exam if and when we publish one, at no further charge. It is not a recurring subscription. It does not include courses for other certifications.
• No recurring charges. Because paid plans are one-time purchases, there is nothing to cancel and your payment method is never charged again automatically. You can see your current plan and access on your Settings page, and open your receipts and payment history there through a billing portal that Stripe hosts. For help or a refund request, email us at support@secplusmastery.com.
• Pass guarantee. If you actively study with the Service and still do not pass the CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) exam, we will extend your paid access by an additional 90 days at no charge so you can keep preparing. You submit the claim in the app, and when your in-app record meets the conditions we apply the extension automatically. To qualify you must: hold an active paid 90-Day Pass, or request within 30 days of a 90-Day Pass expiring; have reached the 80% mastery gate on the section quiz for every objective; have completed at least one full 90-question mock exam in your account and scored at least 65% on it; and not have claimed the guarantee before. The guarantee provides additional access time only. It is not a cash refund, and it is separate from the money-back guarantee in section 5, which is. It may be used once per account, so buying again does not open a second claim. To confirm a claim or investigate abuse, we may ask you to send support@secplusmastery.com a copy of your official CompTIA score report, dated within 60 days of your request, showing a result that did not pass, and we may decline or reverse an extension obtained through false information or a violation of these Terms.
• Institutional seat licenses. A school or other institution may license a block of seats for a stated window, priced as shown on the schools page and invoiced to the institution; sitewide sales do not apply to seats. A seat is licensed to the institution, not to the person using it: it is not transferable, it does not renew automatically, and it ends on the license end date, when the account returns to the free tier and stays the student's. A seat gives the same study content as a paid plan, but the pass guarantee above does not apply to it, and a seat holder cannot claim it. An instructor named by the institution can see the study summary listed on the page where a student redeems the class code: the roster name the student enters, the date they joined, how many days they have studied, the date they were last active and whether that was in the past week, their mastery of each exam domain, and their best mock exam score. An instructor cannot see a student's email address, their answers to individual questions, or their account settings. An instructor can download that list, share or replace the class code, correct a roster name, remove a student from the class (which ends that seat's access), and add another instructor. The class view stays open to instructors for 30 days after the license ends and then closes. A student who wants to leave a class asks their instructor or emails us; clearing your study record from Settings also resets what your instructor sees. The institution is responsible for confirming that every student it enrolls meets the age requirement in section 1, for any consent its own rules require, and for using what its instructors see only to run the class.
• Price changes. We may change prices at any time. New prices apply only to purchases made after the change; access you have already purchased is not affected.
• Taxes. Prices may exclude sales or other taxes, which will be added where required by law.

14-day money-back guarantee. If you email support@secplusmastery.com within 14 days of a charge and ask for a refund of it, we will refund that charge in full. You do not have to give a reason and we do not require any minimum or maximum amount of use. This is a commitment, not a discretion: within the window the only things we check are that the charge is yours and that it is inside 14 days.

Paid access from a charge ends when that charge is refunded, reversed, or disputed, and any study record on the account stays where it is. A refund does not stop you buying again later. The guarantee covers one refund per charge; it is not a way to use each new window for free, and we may decline a repeat request from an account that has already been refunded, or one we believe is being used to abuse this clause.

After 14 days, or where a refund is required by applicable law regardless of this section, contact us at support@secplusmastery.com and we will review the request in good faith. Refunds outside the window are at our discretion and are generally limited to the most recent charge. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under consumer law that cannot be limited by agreement.

The Service and its content, including lessons, questions, mock exams, explanations, text, graphics, software, and design, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the content for your own non-commercial study while your account is in good standing. You may not:

• copy, redistribute, publish, sell, or sublicense the content;
• scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the content or use automated means to access it;
• use the content to train, fine-tune, or develop any machine-learning or other automated model;
• remove proprietary notices or circumvent access controls or the paywall.

You agree not to:

• share accounts, resell access, or bypass authentication or access controls;
• reverse engineer, interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
• upload malicious code or use the Service for any unlawful or harmful purpose;
• harass, abuse, or harm other users, or impersonate any person or entity;
• post, request, or share content from the actual CompTIA exam, or anything presented as a recollection of it, anywhere on the Service or in a community we run. We remove such content and may close the account that posted it.

"User Content" means anything you submit, including your display name, avatar, support messages, ratings and reviews, and any posts or comments you make in community or discussion features we may offer. You keep ownership of your User Content and grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display it as needed to operate, secure, and promote the Service. You represent that you own or have the rights to your User Content and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break any law. Ratings and reviews you submit may be displayed publicly as a testimonial. Approved reviews are shown anonymously, attributed to "Verified learner" without your name, but the rating and any note you write are public, so do not include anything in a review you would not want shown publicly.

Do not submit content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, deceptive, or that contains another person's private information. Community features, where available, are visible to other users, so do not post sensitive personal information in them. We may, but are not required to, monitor, moderate, edit, remove, or refuse User Content, and we may suspend or remove accounts for violations. We are not responsible for User Content created by users, and opinions expressed in it are those of their authors. We offer an affiliate and referral program. If you take part, these Terms govern your participation. Taking part does not make you our employee, agent, or partner.

• Eligibility. Participation is by our approval and may be limited or ended at our discretion. You are responsible for any taxes on amounts you earn.
• Commissions. You earn a commission, at a rate we set, on qualifying paid purchases that are attributed to your referral link. We determine attribution and whether a purchase qualifies.
• Reversals and clawbacks. If a purchase you were credited for is later refunded, charged back, or found to be fraudulent or in violation of these Terms, the related commission is reversed and may be deducted from your balance.
• Payouts. We pay approved commissions at our discretion and may set a minimum payout threshold. We may withhold or delay payment while we review activity for fraud or policy violations.
• Required disclosure. Wherever you promote the Service, you must clearly and conspicuously disclose your connection to us, using a plain label such as "#ad", "affiliate link", or "I earn a commission," consistent with U.S. Federal Trade Commission guidance. You must not make false, misleading, or unsubstantiated claims, including any claim that the Service guarantees a passing exam result.
• Prohibited promotion. No spam, no paid search ads that bid on our name or trademarks, no misleading or deceptive marketing, no cookie stuffing, and no crediting your own purchases.
• Enforcement. We may suspend or remove you from the program and withhold unpaid commissions for any violation of these Terms or applicable law.

The Service relies on third parties, including Stripe (payments), Supabase (authentication and database), and Netlify (hosting); the full list of providers that process data on our behalf is in our Privacy Policy. Your use of those features may be subject to the third party's own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the content is error-free or current with the latest exam objectives, that the Service will be uninterrupted or secure, or that it will meet your requirements. Study content is not professional, legal, or career advice.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SECPLUS MASTERY AND ITS OPERATORS AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE ACCESS THE CLAIM RELATES TO, OR (B) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SecPlus Mastery and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings or by contacting us, and you can clear your study record from Settings without deleting the account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if a charge is refunded, reversed, or disputed, or if you create risk or legal exposure for us or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we make a material change, we publish the new version here with a new "Last updated" date and email every registered user a plain-language summary of what changed, in daily batches that start within a day of the change. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at support@secplusmastery.com and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. If the dispute is not resolved, you and we agree that the exclusive venue for any action will be the state courts located in Macomb County, Michigan, or the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
