RosterBlur privacy policy

RosterBlur is built so there is nothing to worry about: the extension makes zero network requests and collects no data of any kind.
- There are no analytics, no telemetry, no error reporting, no remote configuration, and no account system. It sends nothing anywhere.
- Your settings, per-site blur lists, class rosters, and Pro license key are stored only in your browser’s local extension storage. They never leave your device and are removed when you delete them or uninstall the extension.
- To find names to blur, the extension reads the text of pages you visit locally, on your device, in the moment. That text is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
- The Pro license key is verified on your device against a public key that ships inside the extension. No activation server is contacted.
- Buying Pro happens on a separate checkout and activation website, not in the extension. Payments are processed by Stripe under the Stripe privacy policy; we never see your card details. The activation page uses the checkout session in its address to issue your license key and keeps no database; revisiting the link issues a working key again and stores nothing.
- No data is collected, so nothing is ever sold, shared, or transferred to anyone.

RosterBlur is free, and its source code is public on GitHub under the MIT license. Pro is an optional one-time purchase that unlocks extra features with a license key delivered on the activation page after checkout. Keep a copy of your key.
- A Pro key is for your own use. Don’t share, resell, or publish license keys.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. If a purchase goes wrong or Pro doesn’t work for you, email us and we’ll make it right, including a refund when that’s the fair outcome.
- RosterBlur is a screen-privacy aid, not a compliance guarantee. Page layouts change and new content can load after a blur is applied, so always check that everything sensitive is actually blurred before you present, record, or share your screen. You stay responsible for what your audience ends up seeing.
- It’s provided as is, without warranties; to the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability is capped at what you paid for Pro.
- Not affiliated with or endorsed by any school district, learning management system, or gradebook vendor. The Chrome Web Store’s terms apply to installs from the store.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States.
