Quality and accuracy

How we write and verify every Security+ question

A practice question is only worth your time if the answer is right and the explanation teaches you something. Here is exactly how every question on SecPlus Mastery is written, checked, and kept accurate for the CompTIA Security+ SY0-701 exam.

The checks every question has to pass

Before a question can ship, it has to clear a fixed set of rules. These are not guidelines we try to remember. They are enforced automatically, and a question that breaks any of them is rejected.

  • Tied to a real objectiveEvery question is tagged to a current SY0-701 objective and stored with it, so practice by topic always pulls the right questions and nothing is written to a topic the exam does not test.
  • One defensible answer keySingle-answer questions have exactly one correct choice. Select-all-that-apply questions have at least two. The key is stored as data and used to grade you the same way every time.
  • An explanation on every optionNot just the correct answer. Each wrong choice carries its own note on why it is wrong, so a miss turns into something you learn from instead of a dead end.
  • No throwaway optionsEvery wrong choice has to be a real thing that a real team might do. Filler like "all of the above", answers that promise to eliminate risk entirely, and options that suggest something obviously reckless are all rejected, so you cannot narrow a question down without knowing the material.
  • The right answer is not the longest oneA common way to beat a practice test is to pick the wordiest option. Every question is checked so the correct choice never stands out by length, which means you have to read all of them.
  • No repeatsEvery question is unique across the whole bank, so a longer study session or a second mock exam never recycles a question you just answered.
  • Real depth and a clear promptStandard questions offer at least three options, a scenario-style prompt that reads like the real test, and a plain-language overall explanation.
  • Hands-on questions that actually workDrag-and-drop, ordering, and configuration tasks, the performance-based style the real exam uses, are checked against their own answer map so each one is completable and scored correctly.

How that bar is held, start to finish

  1. Built to the official exam blueprint

Every question is tied to one specific CompTIA Security+ SY0-701 objective. The bank covers all five domains and is weighted to match the real exam blueprint, so a full practice exam puts the most questions where the real test puts them, including the heavy Security Operations domain.

  2. An automated gate before anything goes live

Every time the question bank changes, an automated quality check runs the full rule set across all of the questions at once. If a single one is malformed, missing an explanation, has no correct answer, has an answer key that does not line up with its options, repeats another question, or slips in a banned filler choice, the check fails and the update does not ship. The rules above are enforced by the build itself, so a mistake is caught before it ever reaches you, not after.

  3. Original questions, reviewed for accuracy

The questions are original, written to the published SY0-701 objectives and reviewed for technical accuracy. SecPlus Mastery does not use real or leaked CompTIA exam questions, which would violate CompTIA’s exam policy and would not prepare you anyway. As the objectives and the underlying technology move, the affected questions are reviewed and updated.

  4. Graded the same way every time

Every quiz and mock exam is graded against that stored answer key, and your mock-exam results are confirmed on the server, so a score means the same thing today as it does next week. The grading never depends on which device you study from.

Spot a mistake? It gets fixed for everyone

No bank is perfect, and a clear way to report a problem is part of keeping one accurate. If something looks off in a question, send it through the contact page. Reported questions are reviewed against the objectives, and because every question lives in one place, a single correction updates it everywhere it appears at once.

Question quality FAQ

  • Are the Security+ practice questions on SecPlus Mastery accurate?
Yes. Every question is written to the current CompTIA Security+ SY0-701 objectives and reviewed for technical accuracy, and an automated quality gate checks all of them on every change. Any question that is malformed, has no correct answer, or has an answer key that does not match its options is blocked before it can go live.
  • Are these real CompTIA exam questions?
No. These are original questions written to the SY0-701 objectives. CompTIA does not release live exam questions, and using leaked questions violates their exam policy. The goal is to test the same concepts the real exam tests, not to copy it.
  • How do you know the marked answer is the correct one?
Every answer choice, right and wrong, carries its own written explanation, so the reasoning is on the page for you to check. Automated checks require exactly one correct answer on single-answer questions and at least two on select-all questions, and reject any question that has no correct answer at all.
  • How are the performance-based (drag-and-drop) questions graded?
Each interactive task is checked against its own answer map before it ships, so every prompt, target, and step it references actually exists and the task can be completed and scored correctly. They are graded against that stored map the same way every time.
  • How many practice questions are there?
Over 1,000 unique questions across all five domains, with enough in every domain to assemble multiple full-length, weighted mock exams that mirror the real blueprint. No question repeats across the bank.
  • What happens if I find a mistake in a question?
Send it through the contact page. Reported questions are reviewed against the objectives, and a correction updates the question for everyone at once, because each question lives in a single place that every quiz and mock exam draws from.
  • Are the questions kept up to date with the current exam?
Yes. Questions are mapped to the current SY0-701 objectives and reviewed as the objectives and the underlying technology change, so practice stays aligned with the exam you will actually sit.
