DNAT
Destination Network Address Translation
Rewrites the destination address of packets, often for port forwarding.
Destination Network Address Translation rewrites the destination IP address of incoming packets, most often to forward traffic from a public address to an internal server, which is the basis of port forwarding. It lets externally reachable services sit behind a firewall on private addresses. Misconfigured DNAT rules can unintentionally expose internal hosts, so they should be reviewed like any other inbound access rule.
Looking DNAT up is step one. Getting tested on it is step two.
