DSA

Digital Signature Algorithm

A standard for generating and verifying digital signatures.

The Digital Signature Algorithm is a federal standard for creating and verifying digital signatures, providing integrity, authentication, and nonrepudiation but not confidentiality. Its elliptic-curve variant ECDSA is now preferred for equivalent strength at much smaller key sizes. Security depends on using a unique, unpredictable random value for every signature, since reuse can leak the private key.
