DoS

Denial-of-Service

An attack that makes a resource unavailable to legitimate users.

A Denial-of-Service attack makes a resource unavailable to legitimate users by exhausting bandwidth, connections, or compute, or by triggering a crash with malformed input. It targets the availability pillar of the CIA triad. A single-source DoS is easier to filter than a Distributed Denial-of-Service, which spreads the traffic across many compromised hosts.

Memory hook

Denial of Service from a single source.
