Uniform Resource Identifier
A string that identifies a resource, of which a URL is one form.
A URI is a string that identifies a resource, serving as the general category that includes both locators and names. A URL is one form of URI that also specifies how to reach the resource, while a URN names it without giving a location. The distinction matters when reading specifications and parsing input safely. On the exam the key relationship is that every URL is a URI, but not every URI is a URL.
