Enforces policy on devices before granting network access.
Network access control evaluates devices against policy before allowing them onto the network, checking factors such as identity, patch level, and presence of required security software. Noncompliant or unknown devices can be blocked, quarantined, or placed on a remediation segment. This enforces posture and limits rogue or infected hosts, supporting zero trust principles. NAC can operate before connection through technologies like 802.1X and after connection through ongoing posture assessment, and it pairs naturally with segmentation.
