BPA

Business Partners Agreement

A contract defining the terms and responsibilities between business partners.

A BPA is a formal contract that defines the terms, responsibilities, expectations, and liabilities between organizations entering a business partnership, including how shared resources and data are handled. From a security standpoint it sets accountability for safeguards and can address third-party and supply-chain risk. On the exam, compare it with related agreements: an MOU expresses intent and is often nonbinding, an SLA specifies measurable service levels, and an NDA protects confidentiality, so matching each acronym to its purpose is the common test point.
