SaaS delivers fully managed applications over the internet, so the provider runs the infrastructure, platform, and software while customers simply use it through a browser or client. This places most operational burden on the vendor, but under the shared responsibility model the customer still owns data, user accounts, and access configuration. Compared with IaaS and PaaS, SaaS gives consumers the least control, making identity management, secure configuration, and data governance the primary security duties.
