WIDS
Wireless Intrusion Detection System
Monitors the wireless spectrum for rogue devices and attacks.
A WIDS monitors the radio spectrum and wireless frames to detect threats such as rogue access points, evil twins, deauthentication floods, and unauthorized clients, then raises alerts for analysts. Being detection only, it observes and reports but does not stop the activity. That passive role is the key contrast with a WIPS, which can take action. Sensor coverage and accurate baselining of authorized devices determine how reliably it spots intrusions versus generating noise.
Looking WIDS up is step one. Getting tested on it is step two.
