GPS is a satellite based positioning system that provides location and timing data used by navigation, asset tracking, and security features such as geofencing and device location for mobile management. Because civilian signals are weak and unauthenticated, they are vulnerable to spoofing, where falsified signals mislead a receiver, and to jamming that denies the service. The exam relevance includes GPS enabling geofencing policies and remote locate or wipe, while spoofing can defeat location based controls or mislead navigation, so location data should not be blindly trusted.
